Architecture of commercial buildings

Commercial Architecture also known as commArch, is building of commercial buildings such as offices, schools, hospitals, railway platforms, restaurant, hotel, shopping malls, stadiums and many more. These buildings are either to be used for business purposes or maintained by government to be utilized by general public. Architecture can’t be performed by unskilled persons but by qualified and educated skilled commercial architects who are degree holders from reputed and recognized universities. They are well versed in commercial architectural laws and designing. Most of the big institutions are outsourcing the task of architecture to licensed companies rather than dealing themselves or  undertaking all fields differently comprising mapping, cementing , painting ,interior designing, electric work . As it is hectic work and require higher level of expertise to create a masterpiece or well built building.

There are following steps to be taken in constructing a building:-

  1. Preliminary Planning: - Initially, the architects meet with clients to discuss their goals, desires and needs. Client has to put forward their minimum and maximum budget, timeline within which they want project to be created. Because this is the preliminary stage, it’s all about imagination and discussing the project. In the meeting, objectives are set as to how to design a building, setting schedules, giving priorities, etc.

The architect creates drawings and designs including exterior of the building, interior design, office space, number of floors, garden area (if any). The experts then present the idea of the whole project in the form of a presentation to the client to finalize the idea. Afterward, they can review and make improvements considering the advice of clients.

  1. Costing Decision: - Next step is to calculate the overall cost of the finalized design. Under this, the cost of raw material, salary or wages, electricity bill, water bill, cost of finished goods, furniture, decoration, and painting is forecasted. As the company is providing construction, interior designing services in one spot, that’s why the overall cost would be less as compared to the construction of the building from different service providers. This project plan is submitted to the client for final approval, to get their opinion, and to match the client’s budgetary expectations from the firm's quotation of cost.
  2. Government Approvals: - The best architecture companies in Gurgaon have a string of skilled and educated architects who are proficient in the laws of commercial and residential buildings. They get a license for constructing a building, water, sewage connection, etc. Those who have started new companies or businesses can seek, advice from these architectural firms to get occupational certificate also as they have trusted lawyers in connection, hence gets speedy approvals.
  3. Implementation Process: - This is the actual working phase, in which all designs are converted into reality. Whole work is started as per plan and, the bidding process is also started for the activities that architectural firms don’t undertake. The work of the company is to coordinate all the activities performed by their employees, contractors from other companies and ensuring that specific quality standards are being followed in the process. And most importantly, work is done within the set timeline.
