Psychiatric Treatment Center: |
In modern world psychiatry, there are a huge number of methods for the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders and diseases. If we turn to the history of medical psychiatry, which dates back more than 200 years, then during this period of time it has made giant strides forward.
Today we have the opportunity to accurately diagnose a significant number of mental disorders, methods of diagnosing mental disorders in children and adolescents have improved, which allows us to carry out psychoprophylaxis measures, that is, to prevent the development of certain diseases in adulthood.
Psychiatric treatment methods today exceed all expectations. Huge funds are spent on the production of new drugs based on the achievements of modern science in the field of neurobiology, psychiatry, neurophysiology, immunobiology.
There are many non-drug treatments for complex, sometimes drug-insensitive disorders. These are plasmapheresis, chemisorption, transcranial magnetic stimulation, various methods of phototherapy.
Modern psychiatry is impossible without active psychotherapeutic work and without a whole range of multi-stage, social rehabilitation measures.
Rehabilitation in psychiatry has long been at the forefront among other methods of providing assistance to our patients. There is such a concept as recovery - this is social recovery, it determines a high level of patient functioning even if some of the disorders have not been completely eliminated.
In fact, we are talking about the concept of the formation of a new life for a patient with one symptom or another. The consonance of his life with this symptom and adaptation to a new form of mental existence.
To use and implement all modern methods of diagnosis and treatment in psychiatry, you need to contact medical institutions in large cities.
It must be admitted that in most cases it is impossible to provide assistance in such a volume in remote regions. In addition, there are not enough different highly qualified specialists in this field, since this is a multi-professional approach. Nevertheless, all this can be solved within the framework of organizational and methodological programs. In less than 10-15 years, all these innovations and achievements, which I have described, will be on stream and will be available to every inhabitant of the planet.
Today everything looks much more civilized, and, in fact, a modern psychiatric hospital practically does not differ from a good general medical hospital.
But, unfortunately, there are patients who are on the regime of enhanced observation, this happens in situations when the patient poses a danger to himself and there is any suicidal risk.
If we talk about outpatient psychiatric care, then today it is a huge network of day hospitals. These are a kind of semi-inpatient medical institutions, where a patient can come without an overnight stay for a certain number of days a week.

All the necessary conditions have been created, there is a post of a nurse, doctors' offices, every department must have a psychotherapy room, there is the possibility of treating patients with borderline mental disorders, in whom the severity of symptoms does not reach the level of psychosis, and who are given the opportunity to move freely and leave the department without closed doors.

He makes arrangements with his attending physician to spend about half a day, which are full of therapeutic measures, depending on what problems he has. During this time, he manages to work with his attending physician, this is a mandatory half-hour session, this is, as a rule, individual psychotherapy, work in a group, socio-rehabilitation, training or professional rehabilitation activities, physiotherapy support, some kind of additional diagnostic examination, and after lunch, the patient goes home.
This type of care, such as a day hospital, is very common and exists for such patients whose condition is far from stable and who find it difficult to stay in the hospital for one reason or another.
If the day hospital is located in the immediate vicinity of the patient's place of residence, this is an ideal option. Then our patients, being on sick leave, go to the day hospital as if they were going to work.
And outpatient care, a wide network of dispensaries, various offices of psychotherapists allow us to provide people with just this type of assistance - to come every 3-4 weeks for a course of psychotherapy in order to adjust their drug therapy and receive recommendations for treatment in the near future.
