Check the signs if the car scrapper is scamming you!

Getting scammed is the worst feeling of the world. But unfortunately, we all have to face it at some point or another. Wouldn’t it be great if anyone already told you that you are getting scammed and you can avoid this misfortune? Well, it seems your prayers are answered, and we have come up especially with a post that warns you that beware, the car scrapper you have chosen might be a cheat!

Warning signs that say the car scrapper might be duping you!

Opting to scrap your car is actually a great decision. You can get rid of an unwanted old vehicle occupying space in your garage and even get some money in exchange for it. And if you sell a car in Auckland to Scrap Cars, they pick up the vehicle from your doorstep without any additional charges and provide you the best rates for the same. They are genuine and reliable. Some not all companies are. Check for the signs to differentiate at the earliest:

  • Change of word at the final juncture — Most of car scrapping companies provides you a certain quotation the moment they check your vehicle. And when they come to collect the same, they pay you the amount and take away the car. But if the company that you hired quoted some other amount when they saw your car, and at the time of pick-up they are reducing the money, then beware, they might be cheating you. They will make excuses that your car’s condition has worsened, and certain parts aren't worth anything and that is why they are paying you less. In such a case, always compare the prices with other companies as well before handing them your vehicle and getting duped.
  • Delayed payment — The basic rule that every genuine car scrapping team follows is providing you cash in exchange for the car. But if the company has taken away the car and is not paying you the money, then there might be something fishy over here. And if they are writing you a cheque, ensure that you deposit it the same day or before they pick up the vehicle. Because there are very high chances that this cheque may bounce, and you would be without any money after giving away your vehicle.
  • No customer service — If the car scrapping company is delaying the appointment and not answering your calls whenever you enquire something, then they might be a scam company. In such a case, inquire in detail before hiring them for taking away your vehicle.
  • Accepting the car still on loan for wrecking — A professional and genuine car scrapping company never accepts your vehicle for scrapping if the loan amount is still pending on the same. But if the car scrapper you are calling accepts the vehicle without checking the loan papers and still wrecks it, then, of course, they are not genuine and you are being duped by them.

These signs are crystal clear and prove that the car scrapping company you are calling isn’t genuine. Beware of such frauds and choose the auto wreckers after lots of research and thorough study.
