who is familiarly called DiGGia immediately

Indonesian Racing Team Gresini I performed nicely in the Moto2 and Moto3 series of Spain last weekend. They harvested the podium including Fabio Di Giannantonio who won Moto2.
Di Giannantonio played his fourth race together on the Federal Oil Gresini Team in Moto2 Spain. The second start in the qualifying session, the racer who is familiarly called DiGGia immediately stepped on the gas to take first place.

DiGGia was able to maintain that position until the end of the race and became his first victory in the Moto2 class, after moving up the class in 2019. Remarkably DiGGia was able to win 2.5 seconds over Marco Bezzecchi (SKY Racing Team VR46) and Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team).

With 52 points from four series, DiGGia is now in fifth place in the Moto2 riders' standings. Before this, DiGGia had finished third in Qatar, before slipping to 10th in Doha and 11th in Portugal.

"My start was very strong and I was in the lead from the first corner. Then I drove at great speed throughout the race," Diggia said as quoted by the official Gresini website.

"I can say this race is worth 10 out of 10 because maybe I made a little mistake, but outside of that I was perfect."

Apart from winning the championship podium in Moto2 Spain, another Indonesian Racing Team racer who successfully climbed the podium was Jeremy Alcoba in the Moto3 class.

He finished third and would have been better off had he not lost time due to the double long lap penalty. Three consecutive riders in front of him fell so that Alcoba could reach the podium.

The Indonesia Racing Team, which sponsored the Aprilia Racing Team in MotoGP, successfully placed Aleix Espargaro in the sixth position. While in MotoE, the riders Matteo Ferrari and Andrea Mantovani successfully won the sixth and eighth positions.

"I am very happy and proud of the success of Indonesian Racing in successfully winning the championship podium in the Moto2 and Moto3 racing events. It is an honor to see Indonesia's name become a champion in this world-class racing event," said Principal Indonesian Racing Team Rocky Soerapoetra in a release to detikSport.

"The success of Indonesian Racing to be in the top 6 in both MotoE and MotoGP is also an achievement to be grateful for and hopefully in the next race, Indonesian Racing can achieve better achievements," added Rocky who is a young Indonesian entrepreneur in the field of Sport Management Business.

"Because the victory of the Indonesian Racing Team made many MotoGP fans find out about this team and made us become dark horses in the MotoGP racing event this season," concluded Rocky.

Jerez Moto3: Acosta chalks up a third successive win in a chaotic race

Pedro Acosta claimed a historic third Moto3 victory in the Spanish Grand Prix while chaos erupted at the final corner of a dramatic Jerez race.

Ajo KTM rider Acosta has become the first grand Prix rookie in history to score four podiums from their first four races, after riding a perfect final lap to claim his third-straight win to pull out a commanding 51-point lead in the championship.

Poleman Tatsuki Suzuki grabbed the holeshot off the line from the Snipers Honda of Andrea Migno and Gabriel Rodrigo on the Gresini Honda.

Rodrigo and Suzuki engaged over the lead on lap two, with the former making a move stick at the Peluqui right-hander and was able to put a few bike lengths between himself and the SIC58 Honda.

But the Gresini rider’s charge ended on lap five when he high-sided out of the race at the Turn 7 left-hander – the second big crash thereafter Petronas Sprint's John McPhee was flung from his Honda on the opening lap to leave his title hopes in tatters.

Rodrigo’s exit promoted Tech3 KTM’s Deniz Oncu to the lead, though he would briefly drop behind Migno after running wide on the way into the final corner at the end of the fifth lap.

The Turkish rider returned to the lead a corner later, while behind championship leader Acosta ghosted his way into the podium places having started 13th.

And on lap eight Acosta moved ahead of Once at the Pedrosa right-hander, though Once would be back at the head of the pack by lap 10.

In typical Moto3 fashion, the battle for victory turned chaotic in the closing stages, with Once, Acosta, and Max Racing’s Romano Fenati on the Husqvarna all hitting the front.

Once led the field at the start of the penultimate lap, leading a Red Bull KTM 1-2-3 ahead of the Ajo pair of Acosta and Jaume Masia.

Masia tried to go around the outside of Once into the Pedrosa corner, but the Turkish rider defended the position.

That duo was able to break away slightly as Acosta almost high-sided out of third, dropping behind Fenati, who had to check up slightly.

But Acosta got back on terms with Masia and Oncu ahead onto the final lap and pulled off a stunning double overtake on the brakes into the Pedrosa corner to take the lead.

Acosta had his KTM stablemates of Masia and Once all over him on the run through the final sector, but the 16-year-old held a tight defensive line into the last turn to maintain his lead through to the chequered flag.

With the door to the lead shut, Once came into the last corner too hot and tucked the front, wiping out a furious Masia and compounding Petronas Sprinta’s miserable day by taking down Darryn Binder too.

This allowed Fenati to secure his first podium of the season in second, while Jeremy Alcoba on the remaining Gresini Honda completed the rostrum having had to serve two long lap penalties.

Migno was fourth ahead of Ayumu Sasaki on the other Tech3 KTM and Avintia’s Carlos Tatay, with Prestel GP’s Jason Dupasquier, Niccolo Antonelli (Avintia), Leopard’s Xavi Artigas, and Prustel’s Ryusei Yamanaka completing the top 10.

Early leader Suzuki’s hopes of a podium ended on lap 13 when he crashed at Turn 2.

MotoGP: World Championship Race Results From Jerez (Updated)

There are few sweeter feelings for a rider than standing on the top step of the MotoGP™ podium, but doing it for the first time in five years and the first time as a factory Ducati rider adds something special. Add in two muted races, a little dash of drama, surgery, and then a crash last time out on the run-up to the Gran Premio Red Bull de España and Jack Miller’s (Ducati Lenovo Team) emotion in parc ferme is even easier to understand. It was a masterclass to boot as the Australian got the holeshot, fought it out at the top, reeled in early leader Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), and then kept it pinned, coming home to lead the first Ducati 1-2 since 2018 as teammate Francesco Bagnaia showed more speed for a second. Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) went one better than Portugal to complete the podium, keeping that momentum just as hoped and taking top Independent Team rider honors. Quartararo eventually finished just inside the points.

Starting from the outside of the front row, Miller grabbed the holeshot as poleman Quartararo lost out slightly. The Frenchman was swamped into the first corner and found himself down in fourth, just ahead of Aprilia Racing Team Gresini’s Aleix Espargaro, who had a strong start to find himself in fifth. Down the back straight for the first time, it had settled into Miller leading the way, from Morbidelli and Bagnaia that way round early doors.

There was quick drama a little further back for a couple of riders. LCR Castrol Honda’s Alex Marquez crashed out on the opening lap and he was later joined in the gravel by Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Brad Binder, who crashed out at the start of Lap 2.

At the front though, Bagnaia and Quartararo began to duel for third. First, the Frenchman moved up the inside in the opening sector before the Bologna bullet of Bagnaia motored back past down to Turn 6. Then, for a second time, Quartararo got in front of Bagnaia, this time at the final corner. Going defensive into the first corner to make sure it stayed like that, the job appeared done.

On Lap 3 we had faller three of the Spanish GP as Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) made it a fortnight to forget with a second consecutive crash, wide at Turn 6 and the front-end then washing away to end his Jerez hopes and lose his chance to unleash what looked like some impressive pace.

Meanwhile, Quartararo dived up the inside of former teammate Morbidelli for second as his charge back to the front continued, with Aleix Espargaro finding a way through on Bagnaia for fourth at the same time.

El Diablo’s plan was coming together. He hit the front soon after with an inch-perfect move on Miller into the final corner, and alarm bells were surely ringing for Morbidelli in third as the factory Yamaha man put the hammer down immediately and stretched out four-tenths over the Australian in the space of a lap. A new lap record around the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto a lap later and Round 4 of the MotoGP™ World Championship was following the 22-year-old’s script to a tee. So far…
